Evening! I had my second surgery today about 9:30. The doc says it was a tough one, but it took about an hour, and I was walking on the leg, with a walker, by 4. Just had a late, light dinner (it's about 10 PM here). The doc said go home tomorrow! Can't believe my luck!

So, in a few days, I just might find myself in the shop, all the sooner to finish the size 5 Terz, get through my first commission and start on the L-00. I expect Hesh will have his nearly done, so I can build under the influence (BUI? ) of Hesh! I guess that's another way of saying I'll looking over his shoulder.

Anyways, my long-term prognosis looks good. And BTW, Andy I tried for the epidural, but it didn't fly!

Now if only this fog would lift from my brain....... but then again....

Pat glad to hear things went well. Don't be going into the shop before your wife says its okay. Pain killers and power tools don't mix.

glad to hear you are on the mend.

but if you are on anything stronger than aspirin, acetominophen, or ibuprophen(sp all), it would be best to stay away from sharp tools whether they be hand or powered.

I guess my doc liked the outcome pretty well. He sent me home this afternoon!

I had quite a bit of pain last night and this morning, so it was looking like I'd come home tomorrow, Friday, or even later. Then we discovered some of the dressings had been put on tight to reduce swelling, but were so tight they irritated the surgery sites and the injured bone. The nurse loosened them up and voila! No more pain, so they sent me home!

Thanks for all the kind words and prayers. The advice about pain killers, sharp objects and power tools is well-taken. I expect to be in the shop tomorrow and will stay safe doing FP.

Thanks again for all your support. It's wonderful thing!

Ummmm...make sure you're not enjoying those alcohol fumes too much!

I'm glad that this all went well, Pat. Keep on this fast recovery path, my friend.

Glad to hear things went well Pat! Try to stay off the knee as long as possible. Give it a chance to heal! Walking without pain is very important in this life!

Maybe you can do what I do and just keep a piece of walnut by your bed and sniff it when you get down! I told you guys I was weird!

Yeah, Billy, sounds pretty weird , but that's never stopped me before. Maybe I'll upgrade and try it with some BRW!

Both legs are getting better by the hour, it seems. I thought it wasn't supposed to happen this way when you're 57, but I'm not complaining! I woke up this morning and everything was much improved: sweelling, pain, range of motion, muscle strength, you name it.

I'll post progress photos — if I ever make some, that is. Still working on the inlay for the fretboard. I'm trying to capture a certain amount of "Japaneseness" found in traditional woodblock prints from about 100 years ago.
